City of Boston Copies Tufts Bikes

Its official! The cryptic message that we posted yesterday from the Mayor’s Office in fact was about bike sharing coming to Boston. Today, the City of Boston signed a contract with a bike share company to implement a bike share program called “Hubway” across the city. Hubway should be open by July and will have 600 bikes at 61 stations. The program should expand to include Somerville by 2012 and eventually aims to have 5,000 bikes at 300 kiosks around the area.

Tufts Bikes is very excited about the expansion of bike sharing and bicycle access to more people in the Boston area and are proud to be part of this growing movement.
